Bernat Vivancos i Farras (Cat. Bernat Vivancos i Farràs; born 1973, Barcelona) is a Catalan composer and choral conductor.
As a child, he sang in the choir of boys Escolania de Montserrat, then in 2007-2014. led it. He studied in Barcelona with David Padros (composition) and Maria Canals (piano), then graduated from the Paris Higher School of Music, where among his teachers were Guy Rebel, Frederic Durieu, Alain Louvier and Marc-Andre Dalbavi. In 2000, he improved his skills in Oslo under the leadership of Lasse Turesen. Since 2003, professor of composition and orchestration at the Catalan School of Music. In 2014-2015 was a resident composer at the Palazzo de Catalan Music in Barcelona.
Among the works of Vivancos, a special place is occupied by choral music of religious content. Criticism compared it with the choral works of Olivier Messiana and György Ligeti, however, pointing out the more harmonious, listener-friendly nature of the works of the Catalan composer. Two double albums of Vivancos' choral works were recorded by the Latvian Radio Choir under the direction of Sigvard Klava.
